Re: The next eight games will sort things out
Carroll would have been perfect yesterday totally agree, valencia worked his socks off and was kicked pillar to post by Kompany. Carroll would have had some joy as Kompany was on thin ice.

The next eight games will really show just how far we have come. Hoping we can give a good account of ourselves and with confidence sky high we should do.
However this is west ham united so I wouldn't be surprised to see 8 losses and a win against Chelsea and arsenal Xmas week.

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
I feel a bit for Cole. He only really comes on as we change the way we play. He comes on when we are winning and is isolated up on his own - then compared to strikers who have played when we were busting a gut to support them.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want him near our starting 11 and not even on the bench ideally but the stick he was getting from people near me yesterday was unfair

Leigh Jim I said the same to Pete when we left the ground yesterday.... Carroll in the last 20 would have been effective yesterday

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
Key players getting injured has often been an issue in the past. It appears we have good back up all over the pitch at the moment.
Valencia has skill in abundance but will be targeted more and more by the likes of Kompany and sooner or later their frustration will result in him getting injured.

I can't see us losing more than two from that list.

Is how I see it. Everton always do us and have a feeling it won't change

It's an old cliche but we really should just take each game as it comes. Lose to Stoke, which is more than possible, and we are back down to earth again.

Can see us getting 15-18 points from these games. Safe by Christmas, that hasn't happened in nearly 30 years.

Carroll back as well don't forget

Imagine the game yesterday with Carroll coming on after 70 minutes instead of cole

It would be nice to get something at Everton, for a change.

Keep this run going we could be playing a Boxing Day top of the table clash!

The way I feel right now, I can't see us dropping a point. Although I sure we will but we shouldn't fear anyone

Next 8 games decisive you say? Sounds vaguely familiar

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
First of all we aren't going down so take that option off the table and that's great and what every team in the PL should aspire to first and foremost. Yes, it's great to be where we are but we have to remain grounded, there will be good and bad games in those next 8 fixtures and it's always a roller coaster here, but my worry is that that wherever we finish will we do enough to keep hold of the players we have and build on this? That said in massively encouraged and here's hoping !! COYI !

variety within our game plan is our next development hurdle

Yeah, I know it's West Ham, but it is easy to get excited, looking at those games. FFS, we've already won three on the trot and four out of five. When did we last do that?

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
Everton witt attack us relentlessly which theoretically will allow and encourage us to play as we did today.

Villa for instance appears a much bigger ask

I will get excited if we beat Everton away.

Well we will have a goal start in at least 4 of those courtesy of Sakho.

Was looking at fixtures earlier and on current form it is easy to get excited about them

Then I have to bring myself back down to earth and remember this is West Ham... Just enjoy the ride

Re: The next eight games will sort things out
We need the team to stay fit and free from suspension. Then anything is possible.
